Governor Paterson pulled NO punches during his State of the State address yesterday, describing lawmakers as “addicts” and Albany as suffering from “outside influences and inside decay”. But if you look beyond the combative tone, the Governor also laid out a plan to revitalize NY’s struggling economy. Today the Governor joins us to talk about the centerpiece of that initiative, the Excelsior Jobs Program. Plus, we’ll hear reax to the State of the State from gubernatorial candidate Rick Lazio; Blair Horner of NYPIRG will compare the Governor’s ethics agenda with the one already being negotiated between the two chambers; and then we’ll spend some time with the Empire Center’s EJ McMahon whose “Blueprint for a Better Budget” has caught the attention of a lawmakers facing a budget gap in the billions.
