The Capitol Pressroom for September 13, 2011

We sit down with the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation Joe Martens to discuss hydrofracking and the SGEIS.

It’s looking like the race for NY-9 may end up being a referendum on Obama’s relationship with Israel. Democratic Assemblymember David Weprin is running an uphill campaign against Republican businessman Bob Turner for the seat once held by Anthony Weiner. We will hear some analysis from Senator Mike Gianaris (D-Astoria) .

And the State Senate Republicans are likely not coming back to Albany to finish up a bill to enable healthcare exchange legislation. What does this mean for New Yorkers with addictions? We will speak with John Coppola, the executive director of Association of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers (ASAP), New York’s largest association of substance abuse treatment providers.
