Foreclosure World … 2 Perspectives on the Justice Center… Energy Issues

Kirsten Keefe of the Empire Justice Center is also hoping lawmakers take up a bill to ensure fairness in New York’s foreclosure process by ending something called the “Shadow Docket” – S.7571 (Rules)/A.10395 (Weinstein).  According to Keefe, New York homeowners are not getting a fair shake in the foreclosure process because of delays caused by foreclosure firms.  The delays are resulting in a “shadow docket” – a major backlog of thousands of cases not moving forward – that is harming homeowners and the economy at large, and sapping court resources.

Two perspectives on the new Justice Center legislation:

Bridgit Burke, Albany Law’s Associate Clinical Professor/Director of the Civil Rights & Disabilities Law Clinic and Disability Rights Activist Michael Carey have very different thoughts on issue.

Will an energy agreement fall by the wayside this session?  We get the latest from Jackson Morris, the Director of Strategic Engagement at the Pace Energy and Climate Center.
