Gyory on Hispanic voters…Sen. Gustavo Rivera…immigration attorneys?
 
In a recent edition of The Hill political strategist Bruce Gyory argues that the conventional wisdom regarding Hispanic voters will be rewritten after November:  “Hispanics will increasingly stand…as the new colossus astride the crossroads of American politics”.   Gyory, a political consultant with Corning Place Communications and an adjunct professor of political science at the University of Albany, joins me with his analysis.  
 
State Senator Gustavo Rivera weighs in on the tension in the State Senate between ethnic politics and upstate-downstate power.  
 
A new report by the New York State Bar Association shows a “dire” shortage of attorneys qualified in immigration issues, especially in rural upstate areas.   Joanne Macris of the NYS Defenders Association joins us to discuss some of the Association’s recommended reforms.
