Governor Cuomo is feeling pressure from other Great Lakes States to loosen up or even abandon restrictions on ballast water regulations until the EPA issues federal guidelines. One Ohio congressman introduced legislation to penalize New York hundreds of millions of dollars in federal EPA money if the state’s ballast water regulations aren’t scrapped. North Country Public Radio’s Brian Mann recently produced a series on invasive species & ballast water pollution for Chicago’s NPR station, WBEZ. He joins us with the story.
