Figuring out Financial Aid
Numerous studies prove the benefits of a college education, but with a weak economy and soaring costs, are those benefits still affordable? This week on Financial Fitness we’ll have a special report on planning for college costs, determining what’s affordable, and finding both loans and financial aid. Experts in this field join us for a very educational discussion about how parents (and students) can navigate through the deep waters of paying for higher education. Plus, we sit down with LeMoyne college president, Fred Pestello to discuss his views on college education in a changing economic climate.
Are you in the process of applying for financial aid for yourself or your child? Are you on the other side of graduation and now have payments due? Share your stories with us and we share then during our discussion this Thursday night at 8:00PM.

Thank you for an informative show but i disagree with the advice on aid for higher income earners – we have middle to upper middle income levels and we received no aid. Maybe they could have discussed the flexibility some schools must have in dolling out the aid. Good luck with a scholarship for your daughter!

We haven’t discussed this topic in a few years and we’re overdue…. one of the main issues is qualifying for aid – many friends and viewers have told me they won’t get any financial aid because their income is “high” yet not high enough to afford college. To me, there appears to be a disconnect in what these people are hearing versus what our guests have to say . . . suggest you view the interview with LeMoyne’s president which comes up mid way through the show.
