Arts Talk: Price Check

This week, Marguerite Mitchell-Sundberg speaks with Roslyn Esperon and Courtney Rile, curators of a unique gallery showing at The Joan Lukas Rothenberg Gallery at The Redhouse Arts Center.

Price Check is an interactive curatorial examination of the variations of the visual art market based upon geographic proximity to a major art center. The exhibition focuses on the State of New York, where the art market ranges vastly from the urban art hub of New York City to the neighboring art town of Beacon or more distinctly, to the post-industrial city of Syracuse. Rile and Esperon are showcasing not only the artwork used during the study, but presenting the final research results alongside the exhibition on March 10th.

The artwork used in the study, and on display at The Redhouse, was created by Michael Barletta, Carol Flaitz, Carla Goldberg, Novado-Cappuccilli, Jason Varone, Fred Wellner, and Laura Wellner.
